Golden Hour: Makeup for Warm Skin

Warm and deep complexions are not one shade — they are dozens, with undertones that shift from olive to red to true golden. These are the finishes we keep coming back to on the counter.
Match the undertone, not the swatch
Test foundation along the jaw in daylight, never on the wrist. If a shade looks correct indoors and grey outside, it is too cool. A serum foundation with a satin finish is far more forgiving than a flat matte.
Bronze is a warmth tool, not a contour
Place bronzer where the sun naturally lands — temples, the top of the cheek, the bridge of the nose — and keep contour separate and cooler. That single change is what makes a face look lit rather than muddy.
Berry over nude for lips
Nudes that read beautifully on paper often flatten deeper lips. Berries, warm brick and plum-brown give dimension. Line slightly outside the natural edge and blot rather than layering thick colour.
Finish with glow, sparingly
A body glow oil on the collarbones and a champagne highlight on the high points is enough. Anything more competes with the skin instead of flattering it.
